Bet it will be the only 60 Plymouth 2-door wagon running in Nostalgia Super Stock next year.

Mark Artis at Texas Thunder has been assembling this car for me for quite some time — and it is rounding third and heading for home.

The below photos were taken by Pat Artis.

There is a big scramble to get the car finished, down to Houston, and to the tack for the Houston race. It won’t be ready to go down the track if we make that deadline — but it should be ready for others to check out. It will take the rest of the winter to handle the finishing details and TT for racing next year.

This was the toughest crowd in the last four years I’ve run NMCA.

Track Rumors

10/11/10

ClayPoster800

Let’s start with NMCA. They like to make their announcements at PRI so they’ll be pissed when I post the worst kept secret. I didn’t get this from anyone working for NMCA — but from people having inside contacts at various tracks.

The bad news is that we still have to race in Bradenton for the first race of 2011. Personally, 2011 will be the last year I go to that sand pit. If they don’t replace it with a decent Southern track in 2012 — I’m done.

That said, Bowling Green will not be the 2nd race. April appears to not be a great month for rain in Bowling Green — so it is getting bumped to later in the year.

Maple Grove will be replaced with Cecil County in Maryland. Both are quaint tracks — but I think they’ll have the same draw problem. Hopefully the Maryland State Police are more racer friendly than the PA State Police — who couldn’t write enough tickets for trailers over 28′ without CDL.

Zmax had their stuff together in 2010 after being horrible in 2009 — but was a ghost town during the NMCA/NMRA combine race. It will be replaced with Commerce, GA.

Gateway in St. Louis has a $7Million+ overdue bonds and an annual tax rate of over $1Million — so the rumor that Dover is going to jettison. Rumor is that the negotiations are on going with Indy and Norwalk for one of them to replace Gateway — which replaced Memphis in 2009.

Speaking of Maple Grove and Memphis — word is that Memphis might be sold and opening up soon. The electricity and water were just turned on — and phone lines run to the tower. It is reported that the Security Guard said that there’s been a lot of action going there. Rumor on Yellow Bullet is that something big is about to happen at Maple Grove. It is suppose to be shocking when announced.

Back to NMCA and Bradenton — I’m hoping that NMCA comes to their senses and replaces Bradenton with HRP when the contract expires. Houston would make a much better first NMCA race, so if you have a NSS car — get you but here for the race in November.

So that’s the track rumors that have been flying around. Time will tell how close to the truth I’ve called it.

NSS Driver Photos

While at the NMCA event at Gateway this last weekend, I managed to get some photos of NSS Drivers with their cars.

We told Barry that we’re making a New York City Fireman Calendar of the more buffed NSS Drivers! Don’t tell him I was yanking on his chain.

Many of the drivers have to be dragged to the computer, so they won’t see their photo unless some of you email them the link.
